Buffy Summers & Beyond Good and Evil (the teaser)
(originally posted on June 10)
I know Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s been off the air for a few years, just as I know many have moved on and some consider the show to be yesterday’s news, but as a professional writer, my interest hasn’t waned, probably because I feel there is still much to learn from Joss and his co-writers, and ergo, much to learn from watching Buffy.
I am not just a fan of Buffy Summers, you see. One of the reasons I think I took on this gig was a little tickling realization in the back of my brain that told me I really hadn’t thought about the show deeply enough, or certainly not deeply enough as a writer who claims to want to learn from those who are more successful than he — and as promised, this and the next few posts will begin a bit of explication about my thoughts and observations about how character relationships in Buffy are depicted.
But be forewarned. I’m likely to wander around a bit and go off on what may seem to be, or will be in reality, an unrelated tangent or two (or three), and I expect my musings ultimately to prove to be far too much for a single post, or at least too much to reasonably ask anyone sane to read it all in one sitting.
So what I’m trying to say is that there are likely to be some abrupt to-be-continued type sign offs before this is done.
Er, like for example . . . [to be continued very, very soon]
