I’ve been listening to lectures lately about literature and one of the things the professor pointed out is that one of the most enduring aspects about great literature, at least the literary canon of Western civilization, is that it is open to various interpretations.

Whether Buffy is great literature or not, or whether it will endure as part of the literary canon of Western civilization or not, it is certainly open to various interpretations.

It’s interesting how just about everyone has a unique take on almost every aspect of Buffy, isn’t it?

James Marsters interview on Rove Live back in July of 2004. Yeah, it's old but its kinda funny, and James, after your comment about Rove Live versus Letterman, I've had to rethink your blasphemy. It was just a very dry joke. Maybe it was just that British sense of humor that threw me (that you got by playing Spike all those years, as you were never actually British in spite of what some Buffy fans still seem to think).

But I get it now. I'm cool.

As anyone who reads this blog occasionally has probably surmised, I don’t usually do this sort of thing. I either post something related to Buffy or when I feel the need to say something myself. But this is just too good to ignore. If you haven’t seen it, you should — and you should be sure your friends see it too.

I came across this today — and now wish I hadn’t. This is very hard guys, very sad, but as you are about to hear, James talks about the upcoming movie, High Plains Invaders, and right at the end of this clip, he commits the most unforgivable blasphemy!!

Oh James, how very far you have sunk!

(Of course, I haven’t seen the movie, but how could it possibly be better than Buffy? It just makes no sense. It does not compute. He must mean in some alternate universe or something, right? — Or has he been drinking? Taking drugs? Anyone know? I mean, work with me here, guys. I’m trying to find some reason to forgive him.)
